This year would mark the point at which Bachmann would change their production numbers to a strictly four digit system for their Plasticville products. The master units would also have these designations. In addition to these newly numbered units that we have listed below, Bachmann would indicate in the 1956 catalog that the following units were also available:

COMMUNITY CHURCH UNIT

For 1956, Bachmann would change the church in this unit to the 1904 Cathedral and the RH-1 Ranch House that was in last years CH-9 Unit would be replaced with the 1400 Cape Cod House. The only other change was the elimination of the HF-2 fence and gate from this unit.

FARM UNIT

This Master Unit would incorporate the newly issued 1617 Farm Buildings & Animals and the 1302 Farm Implements. These additions would bring the total number of pieces in the unit to 83. However, on the box the contents total 111 pieces. The difference is believed to be the total of the individual walls and other pieces of the barn, ranch house, and the house fence unit which were not added to the total parts in the catalog.

Bachmann would later duplicate the production number that is used for this unit. The difference is in the name that they used for this unit and the later City In A Box Unit produced in 1961.

TOY TRAIN ACCESSORIES UNIT

Bachmann would bring back the 1027 Flag Pole, add three more telephone poles, and the LM-3 Freight Station would be replaced with the 1402 Switch Tower to this otherwise unchanged TA-2 from the previous year.
