The Lionel Ranch Set No. 980 was available only in 1960 and came with 14 pieces of Plasticville housed in a Type II box.

The set consisted of the following Plasticville items:

1. No. 1623 Cattle Loading Pen without the 5 cows

2. No. 1606 Barnyard Animals 3 standing cows, 2 pigs, & 2 sheep only

3. No. 1302 Farm Implements

Lionel included an instruction sheet numbered 980-10 that was not dated. This instruction sheet is illustrated below. There are two variations:

Variation A: With a Type II box.

Variation B: Came in a WHITE 2-piece lift top cardboard box with the number "980" written on both sides. This box is believed to have originated with Madison Hardware.
