Train Station with Ramp and Underpass No. 908Railroad Station with Ramp and Underpass No. 908 is just so "sixtyish!" The architecture and graphical design of this structure reflects the unbounded enthusiasm that was so prevalent during the early part of this decade.

The card stock construction was almost identical in size as the Submarine Base No. 910 that was issued three years before. This station was included exclusively in uncataloged sets only in 1964 and is difficult to find today. There are three sets which included this station:

blue ball Set No. 19394 issued to Lit Bros. and was headed up by a GREEN Canadian National Alco Diesel No. 227.

blue ball Set No. 19395 issued to Lit Bros. (Customer Mutual Buying) that was headed up by an ORANGE New Haven Alco Diesel No. 232.

blue ball Set No. X-810NA: We have little information about this set. The "NA" suffix is believed to stand for "No Advertising." Traditionally, Lionel would share the advertising expenses with the buyer of these uncataloged sets. In this case they would not do this. If you have any information about this set please use the contact link at the bottom of this page to get in touch with us.

On Set No. 19394 the station was housed in a large bag that was stamped "TO BE INCLUDED WITH / OUTFIT NO. 19394" and is contained within a two-level box that is stamped "NO. 19394 / INCLUDE 908 WITH THIS SET." Except for the number change Set No. 19395 is stamped in the same fashion. This station has also been found in a good sized shallow rectangular box that contains a bag of station parts that is NOT STAMPED inside of an original set box. However you look at this as a collectible item, it is almost impossible to find these containers for this station today.

Lionel issued "SPECIAL LAYOUT INSTRUCTIONS" for Set No. 19394 that was numbered 19394-10 and dated 8/64 showing how the track layout is assembled with the station. Additionally, there is an 8" x 10-1/2" sheet that has no number or date and has been found inside the bag containing the component parts of this station. This sheet is shown below.
