The Lionel 3 Dome Tank CarsThe Gulf 3-Dome Tank Car No. 6425 was available from 1956 until 1958. It replaced the No. 6415 Sunoco 3-Dome Tank Car probably because of a licensing dispute with Sun Oil Co. SILVER painted tank with an unpainted BLACK plastic frame, the Gulf logo was rubber-stamped on the sides along with the reporting data. This tank car came equipped with bar-end trucks and magnetic tabbed couplers. The trucks are held in place by a metal under carriage that is held to the body by a single screw centered under the middle tank dome.
