The Lionel Lines Timber Car No. 6361 was first available in 1960 and 1961, then again from 1964 through 1966, and finally this car was produced during the last years of the post war era: 1968 and 1969. It uses a modified frame from the No. 3361 Log Unloading Car and was equipped with AAR trucks and disc couplers.
This car has three variations:
Variation A: Has dull-white rubber-stamped lettering with early AAR trucks. Came with BLACK chains holding the logs. Produced from 1960 and 1961.
Variation B: Identical to Variation A except late AAR trucks. Produced from 1964 until 1966.
Variation C: Is a lighter shade of GREEN flat car with late AAR trucks and no lettering. Used both BLACK or GOLD chains to secure the logs. This car came in a Hagerstown checkerboard box that shows "6361 / TIMBER CAR" on the end (pictured above right). Produced in 1968 and 1969. |
