The Union Pacific Caboose No. 6167-85 was part of many sets both cataloged, and uncataloged beginning in 1963, however, it was only individually cataloged in 1969 as No. 6167-85 when it was issued in a Hagerstown checkerboard box.
First issued in 1963 in the Libby’s promotional set No. 19263, this unpainted YELLOW plastic caboose used a single heat-stamp to imprint the BLACK lettering. Hence, the printing on both sides is the same with the number "6167" to the right. Note that only the number "6167" appears on the sides of the car.
Made on a Die 4 body that is held in place by tabs to either a galvanized, or a blackened sheet metal chassis, it came with both AAR and Arch Bar trucks, with either a disc or a solid non-operating coupler. This caboose was produced both with and without the end hand rails. |
