The Lionel Seaboard No. 601 Switcher was available only in 1956. This engine was produced on a BLACK sheet metal frame, with a BLACK body that has RED stripes and WHITE heat-stamped lettering and railroad herald decal on the cab. It used a Type IIE motor, two axle Magnetraction, and was equipped with a three position directional unit whose control lever was adjustable from the bottom of the body. The engine was not lighted and there were operating disc couplers on each end. There are no variations.
Shown in the 1956 catalog for use with O gauge, it will run equally well on O27 track. |
