Note that only the number "6017" appears on the sides of the car. The box was numbered "6017-235" on the ends. A blackened sheet metal chassis with hand rails fastens to the body with tabs. This caboose came AAR trucks with one disc coupler. There are no variations.

Compare this caboose to the No. 6357-50 that was issued in the "Over and Under" set in 1960. Counterfiet copies of this caboose have been made by adding a smoke stack and lighting to the No. 6017-235 illustrated here which is common. Collectors should pay special attention to the number that is heat-stamped on the sides of this caboose.
