With the use of a No. 90 Control Switch, that was included, the Ice Depot would move the man with an ice cube in his paddle to open the roof door on this car and load ice cubes into the waiting ice car.

Lionel Trains Ice Depot No. 352The Ice Depot No. 352 was premiered in 1955 and was available for two more years. This accessory came with its own specially designed car. See: No. 6352 Pacific Fruit Express. This car was included with the depot. but was not contained in its own individual box. The boxes that are found today numbered 6352-25 existed only for those cars that were sold separately between 1955 and 1957.

No. 352 Box Side

Early issues came with eight ice cubes (Part No. 352-29). However, Lionel issued instruction sheet No. 352-44 that stated that no more than five ice cubes should be used at one time so that they would not jam the car door upon removal. The envelope that houses these ice cubes No. 352-55 has been found with the number "8" removed and the number "5" written on the outside. Seven of these ice cubes were available for separate sale in envelope No. 352-60 that is pictured to the right. The ice cubes have been reproduced, but the original cubes have a bubble cast into the middle of them.

The second issue was dated one month later, 10-55, and has been found with both BLACK and DARK BLUE ink on WHITE paper.
