Lionel Trains Culvert Unloading Station No. 348The Culvert Unloading Station No. 346 was available as a separate sale item from 1966 until the end of the Post War period in 1969. It is the same as No. 345 except that it is manually operated by a crank that was on top of the platform. The box for this accessory is found with the number pasted over the number "346." Without the box this culvert unloader is indistiguishable from the No. 346.

Included with the unloader is a No. 6342 gondola car that has a BLACK ramp that was designed to carry these culverts. It is Variation B of this car that was included with these loaders, and this variation has no "NEW 2-49" date printed on the sides. This car did have its own box that was contained within the set box that is pictured above.

This accessory came with its own instruction sheet that bears the same number as those that were issued with the No. 346 (No. 346-21), but is dated "6/66." However, every reference to the "346" (with the exception of the sheet number) has been removed from the text and the warrenty information for Lionel’s Service Station address now includes the ZIP code.
