The Lionel Single Dome Tank CarsThe Metal Sunoco Single Dome No. 2855 is a premium car that was available in 1946 and 1947. It consisted of a die-cast frame that has steps at the corners, sheet-metal tank, and the lettering is by decals, on the left "SUNOCO" diamond, and on the right side "S.U.N.X. 2855." Cars whose decals have not discolored with age are highly valued today. This car came with a brake stand, ladders, and placards that are located on all sides. Equipped with staple-end trucks that have electronic coil couplers. There are three variations:

Variation A: BLACK painted body, Sunoco decal with "GAS" and "OILS" inside the YELLOW diamond logo, and WHITE lettered "S.U.N.X. 2855" and technical data decal.

Variation B: BLACK painted body, Sunoco decal without "GAS" and "OILS" inside the YELLOW diamond logo, and WHITE lettered "S.U.N.X. 2855" and technical data decal.

Variation C GRAY: painted body, Sunoco decal without "GAS" and "OILS" inside the YELLOW diamond logo, and BLACK lettered circled "L" and technical data decal. The number "2855" is rubber-stamped on the frame. The technical data decal, because it did not have a number, was also used on some variations of the No. 2555.
