There was no horn in the power unit that was equipped with a single vertical worm drive Type IIC motor that powered two axles that utilized Magnetraction. This engine had a two position directional unit whose control lever was adjustable from the top of the body. Both units have a sheet metal chassis that are equipped with solid non-operating couplers, but only the power unit has a light. There are no variations.

All of the Lionel Alco FA units are designed to work on the tighter radius of O27 Gauge track, but they will run equally well on O Gauge track.
