Lionel Trains FA AA Unit DieselsThe Lionel New Haven FA No. 209 is the rarest of the Alcos that would be issued by Lionel in the post-war period. Available only in 1958, it headed up the top-of-the-line 027 set this year, and because of this, it was not manufactured in large quantities.

Produced on a BLACK body with ORANGE and WHITE stripes and lettering, this diesel was equipped with a horn. The power unit was equipped with a light, and a single vertical worm drive Type IIE motor that powered two axles and utilized Magnetraction. This engine had a three position directional unit whose control lever was adjustable from the top of the body. Both units used a sheet metal chassis that have solid non-operating couplers. There are no variations.
