LIONEL TRAINS SUPER-O REMOTE CONTROL SWITCHES No. 112 |
Super-O Remote Control Switches No. 112 were produced from 1957 until 1966. It came with two controllers. Initially Lionel used the weight of the trucks to activate the non-derailing feature of these switches. This proved unsatisfactory and this version was only produced in 1957. The following year Lionel would use the flanges of the trucks to trigger the points in the right direction. Labeled on the bottom of these switches "112R," this version of these switches have a slightly larger housing and they would be available until 1966. Other than this change there are no other variations. |
Lionel would also sell these switched individually. From 1957 until 1960 the left hand switch was sold under the No. 112-125 and the right hand under No. 112-150. In 1961 Lionel would change the numbers to 112-LH for the left hand switch and 112-RH for the right hand switch. This was undoubtedly done to make it easier for Lionel dealers to tell them apart. |
