The Loading Platform was originally manufactured by Littletown in glaring colors. Bachmann reissued it in 1957 in a one-piece box numbered 1620 with more realistic colors. By 1964, they had changed the artwork and issued it in a two-piece box numbered 1707. This box, along with the No. 1809, is very rare and is highly sought after by collectors. The loading platform was later issued with the Shanty under number 1952 and later as number 45977. In these issues the platform has no sign or slots for the sign in the roof.

Loading Platform Roof Support

Loading Platform Roof Support
The roof support for this structure is different from what was used on the Station Platform and this part is not available. It is most often damaged by being glued to, or broken off in, the platform. Produced in either LIGHT or DARK BROWN, and LIGHT or DARK GRAY colors. This part should be the same color as the sides of the structure.

Loading Platform Roof Stack

Loading Platform Roof Stack
The roof stack is often missing from these kits and was made in BROWN, DARK BROWN, GRAY and DARK GRAY colors. This part has been reproduced in all of these colors.

Loading Platform Carts

Loading Platform Carts
These three carts came with the loading platform and they are often missing from this kit. There are no reproductions that are made.

Loading Platform Signs

Loading Platform Roof Sign
The roof sign for the Loading Platform was printed on thinner paper than the signs that were used on the Station Platform and the Suburban Station. This sign was intended to be folded at where the arrows are pointing so the writing would be visible on both sides of the structure. The tabs were then inserted in slots located in the roof. Reproductions of this sign are available.

The Marbled Loading Platform

The MARBLED version of this structure is more difficult to find than the other colors. It was produced with either a BROWN / BLACK shack and GRAY / BLACK roof and platform, or with a GRAY / BLACK shack and BROWN / BLACK roof and platform (pictured to the right).

This variation originated with the No. 5620 bagged version that was designed to be hung from a dealers rack. This packaging was issued in 1963.
