EDITOR’S NOTE: As a long time collector, in many ways I regret the day these guides came on the market because prices for Lionel trains were instantly increased. The reason this happened is because most people are not aware that the prices listed in these books are the prices that a dealer would charge a customer for these trains. These listed values are not what these trains are worth, and indeed, most experienced collectors will not pay more than half of the value that is shown in these guides.

The only exceptions to this rule would be when a collector really needed a particular train for their collection or the piece is in MINT Condition.
