The Helicopter Reconnaissance Car No. 3619 would open the roof and launch a helicopter into space by the use of a No. 6019 or USC uncoupling track section after a winder was manually compressed.
Made from 1962 through 1964, each side of this car was molded differently. It used the molds first created for the No. 3530 EMD Mobile Generator Car. The proper helicopter for this car is a TYPE E that is difficult to find unbroken today. This car came with AAR trucks and disc couplers. There are two variations:
Variation A: YELLOW car with BLACK roof sections.
Variation B: DARKER YELLOW color. This variation is slightly more difficult to find.
