The A T & S F Box Car No. 3484-25 was produced from 1954 until 1956. This operating box car is usually came with Single-Block doors and bar-end trucks with magnetic couplers (unless stated otherwise). The door would open and the man would pop-out with the use of s No. 6019 or UCS track section. The number "348425" appears to the left of the doors and "X3484" to the right.
There are seven variations of this car:
Variation A: Type I Body with BLACK heat-stamped lettering. The "Santa Fe" herald is 7/16" in diameter. This variation is rare.
Variation B: Type I Body with flat ORANGE paint and WHITE heat-stamped lettering. The "Santa Fe" herald is 1/2" in diameter.
Variation C: Type I Body that has rubber-stamped lettering.
Variation D: Same as Variation C except painted glossy ORANGE.
Variation E: Type IIA Body with WHITE heat-stamped lettering. This variation is found with both Single-Block and Multi-Block doors.
Variation F: Same as Variation E except for WHITE rubber-stamped lettering.
Variation G: Type IIB Body with Multi-Block doors and WHITE heat-stamped lettering. Came with tabbed magnetic couplers, and is believed to have originated with Sears set No. 79N 09606 in 1955. This variation is somewhat scarce. |
