Lionel Trains Operating Freight Station No. 356The Freight Station No. 257 was available in 1956 and 1957. There was a diesel horn unit that was mounted in this accessory that operated off of a "D" size battery. In the picture to the right you can see the interior of this freight station and the mount used to house this battery at the bottom. Collectors should check this station for damage caused by leaking batteries.

Like the No. 256, this station came with six adhesive poster signs. See the No. 256 for details about these poster signs. There were three metal signs that mounted on the fence they were, "Rival Dog Food," "Gulf Oil Co.," and "Baby Ruth Candy." Because of the similarity between these two stations, collectors should verify the number stamped on the bottom because the base on this station is interchangeable with the more common No. 256.
