LIONEL TRAINS LOCOMOTIVE No. 249 |
The Lionel Columbia Type 2-4-2-Locomotive No. 249 would be released one year after the No. 250 in 1958, and although they share the same tender there are differences. While the No. 250 had a three position directional unit, this locomotive had a two position unit whose control lever would protrude through the top of its Type III boiler right in front of the cab. Like the No. 250, it would have a RED ORANGE stripe and heat-stamped lettering on both the engine and the "PENNSYLVANIA" tender. There is no light in this locomotive and the tender came with AAR trucks with one disc coupler. |
