The Lionel Lines Livingston Observation Car No. 2483 was available only in 1950 as part of Set No. 1464W that is commonly referred to as the "50th Anniversary Set" that was headed up by the YELLOW No. 2023 Union Pacific Alco FA diesels Variation A and B.
Produced on a YELLOW painted body that has a GRAY roof with RED stripes and window trim and RED heat-stamped lettering. It is lighted by two lamps that are held in place by metal brackets that are also used to hold the roof to the body. This was the first of the 2400 Series cars that have people silhouettes on the interior window inserts. It came with Type IV die-cast four-wheel passenger trucks equipped with electronic coil couplers. There are no variations.
Issued in an O27 Gauge set, this car will operate equally well on Lionel’s wider radius O Gauge track. |
