The Lionel SP Type CaboosesThe Lionel SP Type Caboose No. 2357 was the first version of the SP Type caboose and featured many details that would later be removed to reduce production costs. Lionel added different enhanced features to this caboose that have resulted in many rare variations. The first issue has the brake wheels mounted on the inside of the chassis railings, a configuration that would later cause Lionel difficulty in assembling this caboose. Later issues of this caboose would have the brake wheels on the outside of the railings.
