Lionel Trains FA AA Unit DieselsThe Lionel Rock Island FA No. 2041 would be the last of the Alco FAs issued in 1969. This diesel did not have a horn. The powered unit was equipped with traction tires on the power axles, and a two position directional unit whose control lever was adjustable from the top of the body. A single vertical worm drive Type IIB motor powers two axles. The lettering was heat-stamped on these units and the sheet metal chassis have solid non-operating couplers. There are no variations.

All of the Lionel Alco FA units are designed to work on the tighter radius of O27 gauge track, but they will run equally well on O gauge track.
