The Lionel Switcher Type 0-4-0-Locomotive No. 1625 was only available in 1958. This locomotive usually came without marker lights, although many collectors have since added RED jewels to the front of the boiler that has excellent cab interior detail. This engine has a three position directional unit whose control lever protrudes from the top of the boiler right in front of the sand dome. The drawbar to the tender is spring loaded at the screw under that cab to ensure a good ground connection.
The No. 1625T tender is lettered "LIONEL LINES" and is very light in weight. This causes problems when pushing cars through Lionel’s sharply curved track. We recommend that you add some lead weights to the tender for better operation. The tender came with AAR trucks and one disc coupler at the rear of the tender. The only difference between this locomotive and the No. 1615 is a solid non-operating coupler on the front of the locomotive. There are two variations:
Variation A: The WHITE cab number is rubber-stamped.
Variation B: The WHITE cab number is heat-stamped.
This locomotive was designed to work with O27 Gauge track, but will also run on O Gauge track. |
